Out of plain spite, I’ll admit I dragged a couple people down with me. Don’t sleep too sound tonight none of it touched me until it snapped back and hit me and I realized I’d wrecked myself too. Night after night, same complaints, same worn‑out patterns, nothing fixing anything. Every argument turning into “Get out of my life, leave me alone, and put that gun down.” None of this is pretend anymore this is where everything shows. Yeah, I could’ve called, could’ve tried to talk, but how do you tell someone the truth when you know it’ll split them in two? Being gone doesn’t hurt it’s the process of dying that does. Sometimes the only mercy left is saying goodnight. I kept running toward some perfect place that never existed. Didn’t see what was right in front of me. I can say that now I ruined three lives, and it didn’t sting until I realized one of them was me. Our love feels like punishment now. And honestly? If it’s all the same to you, I’d rather feel nothing. Yeah, I confess I’ll keep saying it because some truths never soften. No one wins here, and you know why. A cutting word here, a quiet shove there look at us. I’m admitting it outright, I didn’t care enough. Another light goes out, another person quits trying. He’s shouting, she’s terrified, “My life isn’t open for this, leave me alone!” And I’m shouting too, louder than needed, because that’s what I do. This isn’t pretend we’re back here again, everything out in the open. I could’ve called, could’ve spoken gently, but how do you deliver news that breaks someone in two? It’s the dying that hurts not being gone from sight. Sometimes the right thing is just saying goodnight. Still chasing paradise, still stumbling half‑blind. I ruined three lives and only cared when I realized one of them was mine. I confess I probably deserve whatever’s coming. I confess I’d rather stay numb than drag this out again. I confess, I confess I’ll keep saying it until there’s nothing to admit or left.
