boots (for aStar) i was sitting there nursing a beer when a cowgirl sidled up to the bar and from the very first glance it was clear i was sitting beside a star then she ordered a double shot o' jack toss the ice, she said, i always drink it neat my better judgement thought of turning back but caution now was clearly in retreat she smiled and said that she was there alone and thought that i might like to take a spin from the fire in her eyes that brightly shone i knew the trouble i was gonna get in and then boom 🔥 we were stomping that hardwood floor though at first she was clearly in the lead but i decided to even up the score and give her what she clearly seemed to need we shimmied and we shook, we did it by the book that fire in her eyes just seemed to grow she started wriggling just like a fish on a hook 🎶 though exactly why i guess i'll never know across that room we danced the night away it was timeless, until i heard "last call" though the band had stopped, music seemed to play we were reeling from the feeling of it all on her face a look of sheer delight a smile that spoke her thoughts without a sound she said she did this every friday night ✍️ she'd be mighty pleased if i'd come back around i said there wasn't any place i'd rather be though i might be biting off more than i planned if it was as real for her as it was for me the opportunity would be just grand so next time : when we're stomping on that floor there'll be no need to follow or to lead and no one will be interested in keeping score just moving at a slow and steady speed that sound of boots high-stepping through the night heard them calling out the echo of her name when you trust your heart then things will be alright and you'll wonder at the wonder she became ready boots 🤔 let's go ... 🤠 rjh 5oct2026 ~ content and style inspired by aStar, "keep your boots on" 🙏 https://suno.com/song/945446d6-b813-4cfd-83d3-872c8dbda1e9 sound design by rjh and suno v6 cover video courtesy of ... 💫 aStar 💫 ...
