It might surprise you... That under twinkly stars and the sound of water rolling over rocks, That two friends would sit in silence, while ticks tock. You would be surprised that few words pass from string to string, Only good wishes and hearts on wings, You might be surprised that on bicycles peddling fast down lover's lane, Two friends would laugh and giggle, stopping only once to dance in the rain And, when night comes, thy friends they peacefully sleep, And, dream of seashells & starfish, and snorkeling through turquoise waters deep It would surprise you that friends are better lovers, and this love can not be broken, That no gold or silver is needed to seal the bonds unspoken. And, when princes wander and the princesses weep, Two dreamers lay sleeping, above the ocean deep. Thy wishes granted, can not be taken, Thy friendship given can never be forsaken. And when two friends meet in memories or on bicycles fast and peddling, We hear not the talkers who oft may be meddling. Because some friendships like diamonds will continue to shine, Under a blanket of ruby stars and moonlight divine.
