[Verse 1] She sat alone beneath the weight of everything. No words were left to pray. Only tears she could not stop from falling. But heaven had not looked away. Somewhere just beyond what she could see, an angel came near at God’s command, and stayed with her through the dark, with comfort she could feel but not understand. [Chorus] Angels in heaven, angels on earth. Heavenly messengers, people who serve. Comfort received, then given away. Heaven touching earth with hope to relay. [Verse 2] Sorrow lay heavy as tears kept falling down her cheeks. Then a stillness gathered softly all around. She could not see the watcher there beside her. But peace came gently without making a sound. The grief remained, still aching and longing. But hope came close, and held her hand. She was not freed from all that brought sorrow. But she was given the strength to stand. [Chorus] Angels in heaven, angels on earth. Heavenly messengers, people who serve. Comfort received, then given away. Heaven touching earth with hope to relay. [Verse 3] Seasons had passed when a friend’s tears crossed her path. She understood the look that grief can wear. She knew the language of the silence. And quietly she chose to meet her friend there. No wings appeared, no glory filled the shadows. Just a presence close enough to heal. The comfort once received became her offering, a touch of heaven her friend could now feel. [Chorus] Angels in heaven, angels on earth. Heavenly messengers, people who serve. Comfort received, then given away. Heaven touching earth with hope to relay. [Outro] Heaven reaches down. Love reaches out.
