[Verse 1] I will sing to Yahweh, for He is highly exalted; the horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea. Yah is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. [Verse 2] Yahweh is a man of war; Yahweh is His name. Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He cast into the sea; his chosen officers sank in the Sea of Reeds. The depths covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone. [Chorus] Your right hand, Yahweh, is majestic in power; Your right hand, Yahweh, shatters the enemy. In the greatness of Your majesty You overthrow those who rise against You; You send out Your burning anger; it consumes them like stubble. [Verse 3] By the breath of Your nostrils the waters piled up; the flowing waters stood like a heap; the depths congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy said, “I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire will be satisfied on them; I will draw my sword; my hand will dispossess them.” [Chorus] You blew with Your wind; the sea covered them; they sank like lead in mighty waters. Who is like You among the gods, Yahweh? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? [Bridge] You stretched out Your right hand; the earth swallowed them. You led in Your covenant-faithfulness this people You redeemed; You guided them by Your strength to Your holy dwelling. [Verse 4] The peoples heard; they trembled; anguish seized the inhabitants of Philistia. Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed; the leaders of Moab—trembling seized them; all the inhabitants of Canaan melted away. [Outro] Terror and dread fell upon them; by the greatness of Your arm they are still as stone; until Your people pass by, Yahweh, until the people You acquired pass by. You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance, the place You made for Your dwelling, Yahweh, the sanctuary, Lord, which Your hands established. Yahweh will reign forever and ever.
