[Verse] Not with wisdom not with pride But the message pure and wide A simple truth the world must hear The cross the power drawing near [Chorus] Oh the cross holds the power still Breaking chains bending the will Not by words of golden hue But by a love so vast and true [Verse 2] No eloquence no worldly art Just the truth to pierce the heart Christ's great story none can tame A risen King a burning flame [Chorus] Oh the cross holds the power still Breaking chains bending the will Not by words of golden hue But by a love so vast and true [Bridge] No boast in man no show of might The Gospel shines a holy light Empty words shall fade away But His cross will stand each day [Chorus] Oh the cross holds the power still Breaking chains bending the will Not by words of golden hue But by a love so vast and true
