Strength Is Born in Motion

Verse 1 He had everything he needed delivered to his easy chair, every hunger quickly answered, with no need to go anywhere. He ate whenever he wanted, slept whenever he pleased, There was never a reason to rise up onto his feet. Then one day he stood, and his legs gave way. All that endless comfort left a heavy price to pay. His body was fed, but his muscles grew weak. If nothing should change, his future looked bleak. Chorus Strength is born in motion, it grows with every stride. Every step we venture wakes the strength inside. Muscles are made for moving, hearts are made to give. Strength is born in motion— we grow stronger as we live. Verse 2 He pushed up from the chair, with legs starting to shake. He fought hard to just stand there, determined not to break. One step became two, then two became ten. Each morning he faltered, then started again. His breathing grew steadier, his footsteps grew sure. What once left him weary he learned to endure. The food gave him fuel, but movement gave more. The man who couldn’t stand now walked out the door. Chorus Strength is born in motion, it grows with every stride. Every step we venture wakes the strength inside. Muscles are made for moving, hearts are made to give. Strength is born in motion— we grow stronger as we live. Verse 3 She sat on the sidelines, her place on the pew, hearing the promises, believing them true. She listened and learned, took in all that she heard, but the call to serve others was quietly deferred. Her faith went untested, her vision grew dim; the truths she kept hearing weren’t sinking in. She thought she was resting, not counting the cost, never knowing the blessings her idleness lost. Chorus Strength is born in motion, it grows with every stride. Every step we venture wakes the strength inside. Muscles are made for moving, hearts are made to give. Strength is born in motion— we grow stronger as we live. Verse 4 She rose from the pew, and stepped into need, putting faith into motion through each loving deed. She sat with the grieving, brought food to the poor, prayed with the lonely, then reached out some more. She went out to bless them and found, to her surprise, the blessings returned, and joy coming alive. The joys she’d once missed now blossomed and grew; her faith became stronger as she lived what she knew. Chorus Strength is born in motion, it grows with every stride. Every step we venture wakes the strength inside. Muscles are made for moving, hearts are made to give. Strength is born in motion— we grow stronger as we live.
