Man on the corner keeps reading the Bible out loud. Sometimes Shouting Most walk on by On their phones, listening to chaos, thinking he’s crazy or delusional Some, think nothing at all He continues, eyes shut sometimes In a city, that’s bravery and faith You drop something and a stranger picks it up They say, “God Bless You” and you’re left with those words hanging in your mind. See those around you who know you Where God speaks Can you hear? He’s calling you He wants you near Speaking through all who surround their life in sin. Don’t turn around Don’t run away He said your name We flee from what’s foreign The world has become so hard, we don’t know what soft is What real love is What cripples our creative process and sends us spiraling No routine, no outlook on life Dreams lost, Faith unknown A person screams out and cries-Hope non-existent God keeps up the call He’ll call on you until He calls you home Calls you home Let it sink in a moment…….. More than every single phone call, text, direct message, disappearing message More than every email, piece of mail, package, Store visit You need a Core visit He’ll keep calling you Until you answer He reached out to you through all of it But your eyes and ears were not open What will it take for you to see or hear? He’s just going to keep up No matter the turns you take Or how many times you put on your headphones to escape the world and Him He will speak through a song, video, podcast, even AI Never ceasing He will put people in front of you-annoying and practically begging To know Christ That free will keeps bugging, while He keeps calling Then, He calms you There’s a peace creeping inside you You’re scared and have no direction Cannot pinpoint the calming feeling and where it comes from “Open your soul and Come to Me” God whispers For some, it’s not the loud, not the chaos, not the fear finding tactics It’s the soft, subtle approach The light touch from God through on of the obedient souls on earth It’s that appealing song that snuck through your list of music It’s the man who read the Bible on the street Or the person who picked up your stuff and looked straight through you The stranger standing beside you who hugged the tears right out of you God will never stop Relentless in your soul returning to Him completely So He can one day, call you Home Call You Home
