A Fragile Hymn of Madness

I woke up in the silence, walls were breathing like old friends, the mirror whispered back at me, “your shadow wears your skin again.” I argued with the voices, they laughed and called me weak, but every word they threw at me just dripped with the poison I seek. I’m dancing with the fractures, bleeding where the light gets in, a fragile hymn of madness wrapped beneath this paper skin. And if the world won’t hear me, I’ll scream into the rain, ’cause healing never sounded sweet without the taste of pain. The streetlight hums confessionals, like ghosts in neon glow, I bargain with the darkness for a truth I’ll never know. A boy becomes a monster when his lullabies decay, but even monsters pray for peace before they fade away. I’m dancing with the fractures, bleeding where the light gets in, a fragile hymn of madness wrapped beneath this paper skin. And if the world won’t hear me, I’ll scream into the rain, ’cause healing never sounded sweet without the taste of pain. Tell me, is the shadow me, or am I just the echo? A puppet strung on trauma’s hands, still dancing with the devil. I want to cut the strings tonight, but I’m afraid to fall, so I paint my scars in lullabies and pray they cover all. Maybe peace is just a rumor, maybe life's a fleeting spark, but I’ll keep singing to the silence, ’til it answers in the dark.
