FROM WHOM I WAS Mini Story I was once somebody somewhere else long ago what I did see what did I do what did I not do where was I teaching others to believe that no hell exists nor does a heaven exist is challenge that I am not ready to face. What if god was you all long what if you had that same abilities as man made scriptures say. What if the answers I search for are not in books but hidden somewhere inside myself. What if every trauma every near death experience every hardship was preparing me to understand something bigger than I can currently see. I do not know who I was. I do not know where I came from before this life. But I know this. I survived. I survived bullying. I survived harassment. I survived being pushed down. I survived moments that nearly took everything from me. And maybe the greatest lesson is not discovering whom I was. Maybe it is discovering who I choose to become. FROM WHOM I WAS Intro Hello I’m Doctor D I’m the difference between the lines I’m the difference with no sides This is From Whom I Was Verse 1 I don’t need to be a Doctor to help you see The noise between the right the left and the center they create traumas we were not built for We let forces divide and conquer what’s left of our minds You scream for human rights But let your own people become the living reality Of our own living dead While you cry for others land There is no peace in minds being conceived and controlled No peace no justice but for who You or for those represent the few that make it thru I am a survivor of brutality I am a survivor of near death experiences I’m the voice that got put away I was the wronged I became a rumor that others injected into me Like a growing freaking tumor Titles politic cuffs knocked me down While I tried to stand If you want trauma If you want victim I’m not it I am the voice to maybe even help you heal Thru no fear Your mind is power use it No harm in physical form Just use for your own mental well And gain the strength in your mind then Pre-Chorus Maybe I lived before Maybe I walked another road Maybe I taught lessons I forgot Maybe I carried burdens not my own Maybe the answers never mattered Maybe the question was the key Because every chapter I survived Brought another piece of me Chorus From whom I was To who I am I carried every lesson in my hands From whom I was To who I became I refused to let pain decide my name Every insult Every attack Every moment trying to hold me back From whom I was I finally see The survivor was always inside me Verse 2 People laughed while I struggled People judged what they never knew They saw moments They never saw the battles They saw reactions They never saw the pressure They saw scars They never saw the cause I remember hospital rooms I remember fear in my chest I remember wondering If this would be my final breath I remember standing alone When others walked away Learning how to survive One difficult day at a time Every insult became fuel Every setback became instruction Every loss became another reason To keep moving forward Pre-Chorus I searched for meaning I searched for proof I searched for reasons To explain the truth But every answer led me back To the person in the mirror The one who refused to quit The one who is still here Chorus From whom I was To who I am I carried every lesson in my hands From whom I was To who I became I refused to let pain decide my name Every insult Every attack Every moment trying to hold me back From whom I was I finally see The survivor was always inside me Bridge What if we are more than labels More than categories More than systems More than what others decide What if the greatest strength Was never perfection What if it was surviving What if it was standing again After every attempt to break you What if the purpose Was helping another person Make it through one more day Final Chorus From whom I was To who I am The road was rough but here I stand From whom I was To who I’ll be No one else will write my story Near death couldn’t stop me Harassment couldn’t stop me Bullying couldn’t stop me Rumors couldn’t stop me Labels couldn’t stop me Being pushed aside couldn’t stop me I learned survival Is more than staying alive It is finding purpose When everything says quit It is helping others When you are still healing yourself It is standing back up Again and again and again Outro Hello I’m Doctor D I’m not your enemy I’m not your ruler I’m not your judge I’m a survivor From whom I was To who I am The journey continues And if you are still here Still fighting Still searching Then your story continues too This is From Whom I Was
