FROGS AND TOADS NIGHT PARTY Male: Night has fallen on the field Toads are singing loud and free Croak, croak… who is calling? It’s your old friend, come with me! Female: Frogs are sitting by the pond Hearing all that noisy sound Ribbit, ribbit… keep it quiet Why are you still singing loud? Male: Toad just laughs, “Why should we stop? Tonight the fun is just beginning Croak, croak, I will sing first If you can sing, then join right in!” Female: Frog jumps quickly in the pond Ribbit, ribbit, sing a song One little verse is not enough Come on, everybody sing along! Male & Female: Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit What a crazy night tonight Meow, meow — woof, woof Everybody feels all right Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit If you’re sad, just laugh and play Meow, meow — woof, woof Dance the night away! Female: Kitty walks across the yard Meows a little, soft and sweet Sees the dog asleep so soundly “Wake up, sleepy brother, please!” Male: Dog jumps up and looks around “Woof, woof, who just called my name?” Kitty laughs and starts to run Dog goes chasing just the same! Female: Meow, meow, don’t chase me now I was only having fun! Male: Woof, woof, stop and wait for me Come and dance with everyone! Male & Female: Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit Meow, meow — woof, woof Every creature starts to sing No one wants to lose tonight Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit Meow, meow — woof, woof Country fields become a stage Everything is feeling good! Male: Toad asks Frog a funny thing “How much longer can you sing?” Female: Frog just laughs, “I do not know If we’re happy, let it go!” Male: Dog comes in and proudly says “I can keep the rhythm strong Woof, woof, everybody listen Nobody should sing it wrong!” Female: Kitty hears him, starts to laugh “Meow, meow, you talk too much Why are you so serious? Tonight we only need some fun!” Male & Female: Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit Meow, meow — woof, woof From the pond they call together From the yard they answer back Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit Meow, meow — woof, woof If you hear us and don’t dance Maybe you’re asleep out back! Female: Soft wind moves across the trees All the fields are full of cheer Frogs puff up their little cheeks Toads keep singing loud and clear Male: Kitty walks around the yard Dog keeps following close behind No one’s angry anymore Everybody’s feeling fine Male & Female: Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit Meow, meow — woof, woof Nobody will sleep tonight We will sing till morning light Croak, croak — ribbit, ribbit Meow, meow — woof, woof Frogs and toads and cats and dogs Sing away the blues tonight Male: When the morning sun comes up Everybody heads back home Female: But tomorrow night we’ll meet again So don’t fall asleep alone!
