Fate In My Arms (Viking Saga 3)
[INTRO] The coast appeared at dawn, a line of silver stone. The ravens rode the wind above the dragon prows. The sea still carried Odin's words within my chest— yet summer called for battle, and battle knows no rest. [VERSE I] We struck the shore like thunder, shields crashing into sand. Axes flashed like lightning across a foreign land. Smoke climbed through the morning, fire devoured the grain. Men shouted to the heavens, and iron answered pain. [PRE-CHORUS I] Yet beneath the roar of war, beneath the cries and flame, I felt a distant current whispering my name. [CHORUS I] The Norns still weave before me, though their pattern I can't see. Somewhere past the horizon, a road is waiting for me. If the Allfather has marked me, if he carved my fate in stone, then every wave and battle has led me toward my own. [VERSE II] Gold rang inside the hallways, timbers groaned and broke. The air was thick with ashes, the sky was thick with smoke. My brothers roared in triumph, drunk on fire and steel. Yet something in the chaos felt stranger than the real. [PRE-CHORUS II] The sound began to fade, the world began to bend. As though the dream of ravens had found me once again. [CHORUS II] The Norns still weave before us, behind the storm and sea. A fate waits for our people, greater than victory. Though we cannot read its runes, though its shape remains unknown, the gods are building something beyond blood and throne. [VERSE III] Then suddenly the battle fell silent in my ears. The smoke became a shoreline between two different worlds. I stood again in twilight, where I had walked before. The same vast sea of shadows, the same forgotten shore. And Odin stood before me. He never spoke a word. He only turned and pointed toward a figure in the dark. A woman lay unconscious, black hair upon the ground. Untouched by fire and slaughter, surrounded by a glow. [PRE-CHORUS III] And when the vision shattered, the battle rushed anew. My brothers closed around her— and I knew what I must do. [FINAL CHORUS] The Norns still weave around us, around the land and sea. Around my tribe, around her life, around the man I'll be. The Allfather showed the doorway, within the smoke and flame. And somewhere in her future is hidden my true name. If destiny has chosen us, then let the storm begin— for the road of all our stories has finally crossed within. [OUTRO] The village was burning, the air filled with shouting. My brothers called for plunder, for glory and for gold— but the Allfather's vision still burned within my soul. Though I did not know her name, I knew what Odin said. And through the smoke and embers, I bore fate in my arms.
