Freundschaft

___________________ English translation: "For the next song, the lyrics are from my late friend Markus. He gave me this poem as a birthday present. At that time, he could no longer walk and no longer write. He dictated the text to the civilian service worker who cared for him around the clock. Back then, I was embarrassed by the poem because I felt like I didn’t deserve something like that. Today, after many years, I sing the text with pride in memory of you, Markus!" Friendship Something that comes into being once and then never passes away. Something that one feels and with which one does not play, where one shares everything and rushes nothing, where one chooses someone to whom one tells everything, with whom one suffers, who accompanies one for a lifetime. Someone with whom one cries, is sad and seems happy. Someone with whom one laughs and sometimes does silly things. Someone whom one loves, to whom one gives everything. When one experiences something like that, life becomes worth living. Maybe that is why I like you so much, because you are the way you are. With you my condition is only half as heavy, because having you is good. Good for me and for my soul’s well-being, because you are always there for me and because I can pour out my heart to you and you then help me further. That is why it works this way with us, for you do not woo for my favor, which is already certain for you anyway, because you are the best for me. When one experiences something like that, life becomes worth living.
