More Than You Know (For Redbird)

There are days you won't remember That somebody else will keep Something small you said in passing Something planted running deep You have touched a life in places You may never get to see Sent a little light ahead of you And called it ordinary You measure yourself by what you carry I see farther than you do You matter more than you know Far beyond the places you can see There are hearts that hold a space for you Quietly, faithfully When the road feels longer than your strength And you're certain you're alone There is love already reaching you More than you know Not every hand will touch your shoulder Not every prayer will reach your ears Some will simply walk beside you Without announcing why they're here There are names you haven't learned yet There are doors still opening wide And a thousand little reasons You are needed on this side You can only see this moment I can see what waits beyond You matter more than you know Far beyond the places you can see There are hearts that hold a space for you Quietly, faithfully When the road feels longer than your strength And you're certain you're alone There is love already reaching you More than you know Some things bloom where you won't witness Some seeds rise after you've gone Somebody will find their courage In a light you carried on So don't mistake the quiet For a world that doesn't care There are things you cannot see yet That doesn't mean they're not there You matter more than you know Not because of what you give away Not because somebody needs you Not because you saved the day There is nothing you must offer Nothing you must prove or show You were precious before anyone noticed More than you know And when you cannot see your worth Trust the One who sees the whole You matter More than you know.
