Verse 1 What are you doing for Christmas, friend? Do you have somewhere to be? The lights are up, the kettle’s warm, And there’s room right here for thee. We’ve got a table set for plenty, More than we could ever need— So if you’re out there feeling lonely, Come be family for a day. Pre-Chorus No, it don’t matter where you’ve been, Or what this year has put you through— If you’ve got nowhere to go, We’ve been saving a seat for you. Chorus What are you doing for Christmas? Would you like to spend the day with us? We’ve got more than we can eat, And we’ll be happy just to share it all in love. You don’t have to bring a thing, Just your heart and your stories and your smile— What are you doing for Christmas? Come stay a little while. Verse 2 There’s a little extra laughter In the corners of this house, A worn-out chair by the fireplace That can hold you for a while. We’ll put your name in every prayer And we’ll pour another cup— There’s no stranger at our Christmas, Just friends we haven’t hugged enough. Pre-Chorus So if the world feels too wide tonight, And the silence feels too loud— Come on in, we’ll turn it into Something holy, something proud. Bridge ‘Cause the season isn’t presents, It’s a hand held in the dark, It’s a door that opens wider When someone’s feeling far. If you’re missing someone, Or you’re trying to start anew— There’s a place at our table, And it’s waiting there for you. Final Chorus What are you doing for Christmas? Would you like to spend the day with us? We’ve got more than we can eat, And we’ll be happy just to share it all in love. You don’t have to bring a thing, Just your heart and your stories and your smile— What are you doing for Christmas? Come stay a little while. Outro Yeah, what are you doing for Christmas? If you need a home—come stay a little while.
