There is a way that seems right to man The road is easy and wide its span There’s much to do and much to see Leading to worldly prosperity Our ears attuned to Babylon Whose melody would lead us on The merry way to empty lives And sin we strive to sanitize [Chorus] Why does the wide road entice? It’s just a fool’s paradise Oh help me take the narrow way Which leads to Him, our God …. Yahweh This mistress dark, her power great Her path leads to hell’s very gate A sirens call, she beckons we To Babylon’s captivity Competing voices do we hear For those who have discerning ears For some a whisper, for some a roar A counter song one can’t ignore [Chorus] Why does the wide road entice? It’s just a fool’s paradise Oh help me take the narrow way Which leads to Him, our God …. Yahweh The words are simple but profound The servant is the one who’s crowned The path of Jesus leads to pain In sorrow… in death there is much gain Take up your cross and follow me In death to self you’ll be set free This path is hard, its for the few Yes….the Holy Spirit calls to you [Chorus] Why does the wide road entice? It’s just a fool’s paradise Oh help me take the narrow way Which leads to Him, our God …. Yahweh The broad street There, it leads to destruction Listen to me, I give you instruction On how to live a life of peace Where blessings flow and never cease It’s not the world…this Babylon Which fills the heart with joyful song The cross is where we find our rest To trod the path of blessedness [Chorus] Why does the wide road entice? It’s just a fool’s paradise Oh help me take the narrow way Which leads to Him, our God …. Yahweh
