It all started when we were just kids You and I on opposite ends of an old dirt road We’d meet each summer morning, on our red flyer bikes Not giving a thought to ever growing old The days flew by, we started to grow up Then all at once the pretending stopped A brand new feeling came over us Then that glance as our hands first touched We still hold hands as we walk along This old dirt road we call our home Backroads love came naturally Backroads love, forever you and me That first kiss, when we were teens We saw each other as more than friends We’ve never looked back, since that precious day This backroads love, is here to stay We still hold hands as we walk along This old dirt road we call our home Backroads love came naturally Backroads love, forever you and me The years have passed, we’ve aged a bit But this old dirt road is still home to us We raised our kids to love this place Backroads love, in our hearts to stay Backroads love came naturally Backroads love, forever you and me Backroads love…..forever….you and me
