On a little farm outside the buzzing city life Lies a house that barely holds together The roof has holes so it rains inside Creeking floors and old dusty bookshelves A grumpy old man without an open mind His life was scheduled, not a single surprise Every day the same old procedures and whine The world was bitter, the man realized One night he heard a swooshing sound He murmured loud;"who's in my house?" Someone was there, moving things around He hadn't seen a soul since the death of his spouse Nothing stolen and nothing was broken He just locked the door and went to bed But the next morning he saw a little token Something that used to lie in the shed His heart started racing,he couldn't believe The hair lock from his beloved wife there He searched the grounds for traces of thieves But nothing seen, just a familiar scent in the air Like his wife had just walked past him The sweet smell of vanilla beans He fell to the ground and started whining What changed his heart was not seen After that day he was no longer a grump Remembering his happy wife's saying; "Be humble even if your house is a dump, others might only have the gift of praying" He fixed his house and helped some folks To get roof over their head and company He never ever had visits from ghosts But his heart awakened to sweet memories Never forget the positive vibes Even forgotten things can survive Life gets better when mind is open Light still shines for the heartbroken
