Introspection Study No. 2: Internal Audit (Remix)
[Section A - Quiet Observation] I open my head like a file drawer, thumb through the pages that keep rewriting themselves while I’m not looking. Every thought hums too loudly under the fluorescent memory lights. [Section B - Self-Interrogation Pulse] Why did I do that? Why didn’t I do that? Why am I like this / like this / like this? I chase my own motives like shadows around a room that never sits still. [Section C - Glitch-Chorus] analysis / paralysis mirror in a mirror in a mirror my mind is a hallway of questions with doors that only open inward and never all the way. [Section D - Thought Disassembly] I dissect the feeling, peel it open, look for meaning in the wires but everything’s tangled in ways language refuses. I label the pieces anyway just to feel like I understand. [Section E - Micro-Hook] I know myself too deeply and not at all. I’m the scientist and the subject and the unreliable narrator. [Section F - Emotional Backdraft] Sometimes the questions fold in on themselves, implode like a collapsing star- all heat, no answers. I try to chart the patterns but they blur every time I get close. [Outro - Fade to Internal Static] I breathe. I mark the page. I close the file with shaking hands. Tomorrow I’ll reopen it, same place, same light, hoping the chaos finally makes a shape I recognize.
