📖I started thinking about this song by imagining a future where space travel and living on other planets have become completely normal, and wondering whether something like the police force we have today would still exist in a world like that. Their jurisdiction could probably cover an absolutely ridiculous amount of space, while at the same time, the small everyday problems people bring to them might not be all that different from the ones we have now. I thought that contrast could lead to some pretty funny situations, and I just kept letting my imagination run with it from there. Honestly, coming up with this kind of stuff is probably the most fun part for me. 🎵English lyrics follow the Japanese version. どうぞー」 コズミックポリス 猫を確保 発見場所は少年の部屋 転送装置の上で大あくび 猫は家にいました コズミックポリス 捜索終了 半径三十光年 星から星へ 訂正連絡 「猫、捜索範囲の中心で確保」 「繰り返す、中心で確保」 --- Cosmic Police, go find that cat Thirty light-years in every direction Emergency alerts from star to star A galaxy-scale search is now underway A boy came running in alone The cat is black and white, with a long tail It stepped into a teleportation device Destination unknown—somewhere within thirty light-years “Search radius: thirty light-years. A cat-shaped shadow reported from a Mars base A cat-like sound somewhere along the Jupiter route Cat-looking rocks and cat-looking clouds Tons of vaguely cat-like images come flooding in “No, I mean, we’re looking for an actual cat.” Cosmic Police, go find that cat Thirty light-years in every direction Even the military’s out, every radar at full power Cat, please respond They heard us calling from beyond the stars A winged sphere, a thing made entirely of legs Something ten feet tall and covered in slime Things no one has ever seen keep showing up “Uh… has anyone there actually seen a cat before?
