[Verse 1] Hi, to whomever listening I want to say this plain You can't give up on yourself Even when it aches I wasn't perfect, no I had my share of shame I only knew how to hurt others [Pre-Chorus] But God knew me Before my broken parts God knew me And held me in His heart He saw the ruin Still He reached for me He turned my ashes Into mercy [Chorus] You can't give up on yourself You can't give up on yourself God knew you first (God knew you first) God can heal your heart You can't give up on yourself You can't give up on yourself He knows who you are (He knows who you are) Right where you are [Verse 2] I used to feel so empty inside With every careless word I wounded others first Then I felt the burn But God healed my heart From the inside out He stayed when I walked off He pulled me back around [Pre-Chorus] But God knew me Before my broken parts God knew me And held me in His heart He saw the ruin Still He reached for me He turned my ashes Into mercy [Chorus] You can't give up on yourself You can't give up on yourself God knew you first (God knew you first) God can heal your heart You can't give up on yourself You can't give up on yourself He knows who you are (He knows who you are) Right where you are [Bridge] I say this 'cause I care I say it with my scars There is still a way back Even from afar If He found me there He'll find you too What was lost in me He'll make brand new [Final Chorus] You can't give up on yourself You can't give up on yourself God knew you first (God knew you first) God can heal your heart You can't give up on yourself You can't give up on yourself He knows who you are (He knows who you are) Right where you are You can't give up on yourself You can't give up on yourself God knew you first (God knew you first) God already knows
