(spoken) No pride in the flesh… No crown for the sinner… Only grace from the King. Two men walked into the temple… Two hearts before the throne… One trusted in himself… One cried, "God, don't leave me alone." --- Verse 1 Pharisee stepped in with a list of achievements, "God, look at me, look at my obedience." Fasting, tithing, keeping every tradition, But a spotless record can't erase the condition. He looked at the sinner with a judgmental stare, "Thank You I'm not like him standing over there." But pride is a poison that blinds the soul, A heart full of self can't be made whole. He had religion but missed redemption, Had the law but missed his reflection. Hands looked clean but the heart was stained, Trying to earn what grace had already claimed. --- Chorus I ain't saved by my works, I'm saved by the Lamb, Not by what I do, but by who I am in Him. Dead in sin, but He called my name, Sovereign grace broke every chain. Mercy alone! Christ alone! Faith alone before the throne! No boasting here, no pride remains, All glory to the King who reigns! --- Verse 2 Tax collector came with his head bowed low, No résumé, no status to show. No "God, remember everything I did," Just "Have mercy on this sinner" — that's it. He understood what the proud denied, Holy God and a sinful side. Justice demanded a perfect price, So Christ stepped in and paid it with life. The cross wasn't plan B, it was always the mission, The Father's decree and the Son's submission. Chosen before the foundation of creation, Grace poured out for a redeemed generation. Ephesians 1 — He chose us in Him Romans 8 — predestined to be conformed to Him Not because we were better, not because we were strong, But because His mercy was planned all along. --- Chorus I ain't saved by my works, I'm saved by the Lamb, Not by my effort, but by God's great plan. From the grave to the throne, from death into life, Jesus conquered sin through the ultimate sacrifice. Grace alone! Faith alone! Christ alone before the throne! The stone was rolled, the King arose, The Shepherd found His wandering soul. --- Bridge — Spoken / Cinematic Who gets the glory? Not me. Not my discipline. Not my religion. Not my reputation. Christ alone. The sinner brings nothing… But Christ brings everything. --- Verse 3 Total depravity, that's where we start, Sin didn't just stain — it corrupted the heart. No human effort could climb that hill, Dead bones don't choose, they need God's will. But sovereign grace spoke into the grave, The Shepherd came down because He came to save. Effectual calling broke through the night, Opened blind eyes and brought them to light. Adopted, forgiven, declared righteous too, Covered in the righteousness of Jesus, not you. The Judge became Savior, the debt was erased, The guilty walked free because of amazing grace. --- Final Chorus Mercy over me! Mercy over me! The sinner's only hope is the blood that sets him free. No boasting in heaven, no glory for man, Every crown will be cast before the Great I AM. Worthy is Jesus! The Lamb who was slain! The King who defeated death, sin, and the grave. Forever I'll sing what my soul now knows: I was lost in my sin… But sovereign grace brought me home. --- Outro — Whisper "God, be merciful to me, the sinner." The prayer of the broken. The cry of the redeemed. Justified. By grace alone. Through faith alone. In Christ alone.
