[Verse 1] I packed the map beneath the coffee stain Left the old address inside the drawer Your hand found mine beside the midnight train We counted all the reasons, then ignored [Pre-Chorus] There’s a road beyond the turn we know A little more than we can see If the morning asks us where to go Say, “Anywhere we’re meant to be” [Chorus] I’m looking forward, not looking back One small step on a brand-new track Let the unknown open wide We’ll meet it with our hearts outside I’m looking forward, come what may Building tomorrow from today If the whole world changes course I’ll find the future with you, of course [Verse 2] The landlord’s note is taped beside the door The last box waits beside the window frame We’re not the people that we were before And that’s the part of leaving I can name [Pre-Chorus] There’s a light beyond the hill we climb A place our hands have never known We don’t need to borrow certainty To make a little faith our own [Chorus] I’m looking forward, not looking back One small step on a brand-new track Let the unknown open wide We’ll meet it with our hearts outside I’m looking forward, come what may Building tomorrow from today If the whole world changes course I’ll find the future with you, of course [Bridge] When the plans get bent and the weather turns When the pages won’t explain We’ll keep the lessons, lose the fear And start again, and start again [Final Chorus] We’re looking forward, not looking back Every scar is a seam in the map Let the wide world open wide We’ll meet it with our hearts outside We’re looking forward, come what may Making tomorrow from today If the whole world changes course We’ll find the future, we’ll find more [Outro] The first train waits beyond the morning door We’re not afraid of what comes next anymore
