11. Murder at the Fairground

[Verse 1] Cotton candy on your lips Ticket stub stuck to my wrist Broken bulbs above our heads Every ride here knows you're dead [Pre-Chorus] You said "Meet me by the mirrors" Every face a little nearer I was laughing I was lying You were busy slowly dying (yeah) [Chorus] The Ferris wheel came down tonight Screams just blended with the ride Spun you out of frame Out of sight Murder at the fairground Call it an "accident " alright Clowns keep grinning Wide and white Every flashing color hides the crime Murder at the fairground [Verse 2] Cheap prize knife from rigged ring toss Won a bear Then cut you off Red streaks on the carousel horse Paint and blood Same shade of course [Pre-Chorus] You said "Promise that you'll miss me" Kissed my neck You shouldn't kiss me Fireworks covered your last sound As your body hit the ground (hey) [Chorus] The Ferris wheel came down tonight Screams just blended with the ride Spun you out of frame Out of sight Murder at the fairground Call it an "accident " alright Clowns keep grinning Wide and white Every flashing color hides the crime Murder at the fairground [Bridge] [Beat drops to half-time Warped vocal] Ringmaster reads the alibi Popcorn grease on my hands Not guilt Stuffed lion staring with glass eyes All this plastic All this filth I won you once I lost you twice I rigged the game I rolled the dice (woah) [Chorus] The Ferris wheel came down tonight Crowd just kept on standing in line Every crooked arrow hits my pride Murder at the fairground Call it "tragic " call it "fate" They shut the gates a little late I'm the ghost that haunts the tilt-a-ride Murder at the fairground
