GOD WAS IN THE BACKGROUND šŸŽ¬ SILL-E [Intro – Spoken] Yeah… I thought my life was falling apart. Didn’t know… I was just watching one scene without knowing the whole movie. Every closed door… Every loss… Every ā€œwhy me?ā€ā€¦ God was somewhere in the background moving pieces I couldn’t see. Roll the film. āø» [Verse 1] I thought I was losing when the doors slammed shut, Thought God forgot me when my plans blew up, Had a script in my hand, but the pages wouldn’t match, Didn’t know the Author was rewriting my path. I called it a setback, God called it protection, I called it rejection, He called it redirection, I saw an empty seat, He saw somebody leaving, I saw the end of something— He saw room for a new beginning. I was mad at the scene ā€˜cause it didn’t make sense, God was moving cameras while I was staring at the fence, I wanted every answer before I played my role, He said, ā€œTrust the Director—you don’t need to know it all.ā€ Some chapters looked dark, like the theater lost power, Didn’t know darkness was preparing me for the hour, Every tear hit the floor like a scene I couldn’t understand, But God was behind the camera with the whole story in His hands. āø» [Hook] šŸŽ¬ God was in the background, While I thought I was alone, Moving pieces in the shadows While I questioned where I’d gone. I thought my life was falling, Thought the story had gone wrong, But God was in the background… He was directing all along. āø» [Verse 2] I remember every failure like a scene I wanted cut, Every time I got knocked down, every time I messed it up, I wanted to delete the footage, erase the evidence, God said, ā€œThat scene is gonna become part of your message.ā€ My pain became a character, my scars became the plot, Every battle taught me something every victory forgot, I thought I was stuck in the same chapter every year, Didn’t know God was building something underneath the fear. I prayed for the mountain—God gave me stronger legs, Prayed for instant answers—He gave me patience instead, Prayed for a perfect life—He gave me something real, Because sometimes what God takes away is exactly what you need to heal. I wanted a straight road, He gave me twists and turns, I wanted easy lessons, He gave me bridges I had to burn, I thought the detours were proof that I had lost control, Then I looked behind me… Every detour shaped my soul. āø» [Hook] God was in the background, While I thought I was alone, Moving pieces in the shadows While I questioned where I’d gone. I thought my life was falling, Thought the story had gone wrong, But God was in the background… He was directing all along. āø» [Verse 3] Now I look at my life like a movie from the balcony, Finally seeing scenes that used to look like tragedy, That broken road connected me to where I’m standing now, That prayer I thought was unanswered— God was answering it somehow. That person walking out made room for somebody new, That dream that never happened made room for what God knew, That season in the desert taught me how to recognize rain, Sometimes God lets you lose something so you can find yourself again. I don’t hate my failures now—I give them different names, I call them training grounds, I call them growing pains, I call every scar evidence that God didn’t let me drown, What I thought was God being silent… Was Him working without making a sound. And if the next scene gets dark, I’m not running from the screen, I know the Director sees the ending even when I can’t see the scene, I don’t need to understand every twist or every turn, I just need enough faith to trust what I haven’t learned. āø» [Bridge – Spoken / Emotional] God… If I can’t see You… I’ll trust You. If I don’t understand… I’ll trust You. If the scene looks like failure… I’ll trust You. Because You see the entire movie… And I’m only watching one frame. āø» [Final Hook] God was in the background, When I thought He wasn’t there, Moving pieces in the darkness, Hearing every silent prayer. I thought the story ended Every time I took a loss, But now I see the bigger picture… Every broken scene was pointing me to the Cross. God was in the background, Never left me on my own, I thought I was walking through the movie… He was carrying the whole film home. āø» [Outro] So when your life looks like it’s falling apart… Don’t walk out of the theater. You haven’t seen the whole movie. That closed door? That might be protection. That failure? That might become your testimony. That delay? That might be preparation. That unanswered prayer? God might still be working on the scene. You just can’t see Him yet. Because sometimes… God does His greatest work in the background. SILL-E.
