Buffalo Winter Blues – Its Bills and Blows!

In Buffalo, when it starts to snow, And flurries down, it comes; it goes, A powdery, fluffy, wintery flow, Sometimes just a dusting, but always a show! A squall may sweep, the winds will blow, Blizzards with drifts, piled high and, whoa! A frosty cold begins to grow, With slush, and sleet, and icy snow! The snowplows roar, but wouldn’t ya know, They fill in our driveway and now we can’t go! Snowed in, no supplies for us to show, The shovel’s under a drift, I can see its tip glow. And on the days when skies are clear, The streets are plowed, but still, we fear— The chill’s so harsh — that icy sneer, We’d rather stay inside with cheer. Our boobie prize, the Bills win the show, We watch them play through ice and snow, At least we're safe in the cold with our throw — No cyclones, no earthquakes, nor tsunamis, NO! So, we bundle up, despite the woe, For Buffalo's winters’ all we know. We’ll brave the frost, the gales that blow, After all, for us, it’s only snow! Let’s go, Buffalo! through winds that blow, With BuffaLove, we’ll get through the snow! We’ll cheer for our Bills, in that frosty glow, For in Buffalo, it’s all we know! © 2024 - RD Wallen
