[INTRO — cinematic / whispered] Curtains open. House goes dark. One seat left in the theater. Mine. You know their names… Freddy. Jason. Michael. Ghostface. Pennywise. Chucky. But you don’t know mine. [VERSE 1 — dark melodic] Freddy lives inside the dream, I live inside your head, Jason waits beside the lake, I wait beside your bed. Michael wears the pale white mask, I don’t need one tonight, Ghostface calls you on the phone— I’m already inside. Leatherface starts the chainsaw, Pennywise comes from the drain, Chucky’s laughing down the hall, I’m dancing in the rain. Candyman knows every name, Pinhead knows every sin, But when the final door shuts down, I’m the one who walks in. [PRE-CHORUS — building] You can hide from the killer, You can hide from the clown, You can hide from the shadows When the sun goes down— But when the credits start rolling, And everybody disappears… I’m still standing in the theater. [CHORUS — HUGE / ROCK SCREAM] I’M THE MONSTER OF THE MOVIE! THE NIGHTMARE THEY WARNED YOU ABOUT! FREDDY CAN HAVE THE DREAMS, JASON CAN HAVE THE LAKE, MICHAEL CAN HAVE THE MASK— I’M THE ONE YOU CAN’T ESCAPE! I’M THE MONSTER OF THE MOVIE! THE FINAL NAME ON THE SCREEN! WHEN EVERY LEGEND FALLS, WHEN EVERY DEMON LEAVES, WHEN THE WHOLE WORLD GOES DARK— I’M STILL ON THE SCENE! [VERSE 2 — faster / aggressive] Samara crawls from the television, Art the Clown never speaks, Norman’s looking through the window, But I’m the face he sees. Hannibal’s got his dinner, Dracula owns the night, The Wolfman hears the heartbeat— I hear yours from miles. Nosferatu in the shadows, The Mummy walks again, Frankenstein was made from pieces, I’m made from all their sins. Jigsaw builds the nightmare, But I don’t need a game, If fear itself had a heartbeat, It would answer to my name. [PRE-CHORUS — whispered → scream] Turn off the lights. Lock every door. Check underneath the bed. Check behind the curtains. Check the closet. Check the window. … Too late. [BREAKDOWN — SCREAMED] FREDDY! JASON! MICHAEL! GHOSTFACE! CHUCKY! PENNYWISE! CANDYMAN! PINHEAD! LEATHERFACE! SAMARA! ART! DRACULA! BRING THEM ALL! I’M NOT AFRAID OF MONSTERS— I’M THE MONSTER THEY’RE AFRAID OF! [BRIDGE — eerie / Michael Jackson-inspired dance-rock energy, but fully original] Moon over the cemetery, Footsteps on the floor, Everybody knows the monsters But nobody knows the door. The music starts playing, My shadow starts to move, One step… Two steps… Now what you gonna do? [FINAL CHORUS — massive] I’M THE MONSTER OF THE MOVIE! THE LAST THING YOU’LL EVER SEE! FREDDY HAS THE NIGHTMARES, JASON HAS THE SCREAMS, MICHAEL HAS THE SILENCE— BUT THE NIGHT BELONGS TO ME! Ghostface on the telephone, Pennywise beneath the street, Chucky laughing in the darkness, While the whole damn house shakes beneath my feet. Every legend has a story, Every monster has a name— But when they make the sequel… THEY’RE BRINGING ME BACK AGAIN. [OUTRO — whispered] The theater is empty. The credits are finished. You can go home now. … Just don’t look in the mirror. Because I’m standing behind you.
