The fire fell, the rains came down, The prophets of Baal lay on the ground. A king’s chariot chased the stormy sky, But I ran with the wind, where the eagles fly. Yet here I am in this lonely place, A cave of shadows, a soul displaced. The voice of Jezebel hunts me still, O God, is this Your holy will? Why am I here, O Lord of hosts? The altars are broken, they hate You the most. I’ve stood alone, with zeal I’ve burned, But the hearts of Your people have never returned. I am the last, they seek my breath— O God, take my life, I long for death. Thunder shook the mountain, the earth split wide, Flames consumed the heavens, but You did not hide. A whisper came soft, like a friend who knows, A voice in the silence, where healing flows. “You’re not alone, Elijah, My plan stands, There’s a remnant who follow, in this broken land. Rise, My prophet, and take My word, For My justice and mercy will not be deterred.” Why am I here, O Lord of hosts? The altars are broken, they hate You the most. I’ve stood alone, with zeal I’ve burned, But the hearts of Your people have never returned. I am the last, they seek my breath— O God, take my life, I long for death. “When your work is done, you’ll not taste the grave, I’ll send My chariot on clouds that wave. Like Enoch, you’ll rise to where angels stand, Your home will be with Me, under Heaven’s command. But now, go forth, for My hand still leads, Anoint the kings and sow My seeds. Seven thousand remain, their hearts are Mine, And through their faith, My light will shine.” I’ll trust in Your voice, calm and still, Through the storms and the silence, I’ll do Your will. Though I walk alone, Your promise stands, Seven thousand strong in Your faithful hands. Take me when You’re ready, Lord, on high— But until then, I’ll run where You bid me fly. -When You bid me fly
