Chapter 4: The Last Supper and the Cross

In an upper room, by candle's glow, He broke the bread and shared the wine, With heavy heart, they’d come to know, The prophecy of love divine. “Take, eat, this is my body given, For your sins, my life I’ll give, Drink this cup, for you're forgiven, In my love, you shall live.” The last supper, the breaking dawn, A promise kept, though hope seems gone, Through the darkness, through the loss, We find our way by the cross. In Gethsemane, He knelt to pray, “Father, let Thy will be done,” With sorrow deep, He faced the day, Betrayed by kiss, the chosen one. Arrested, beaten, mocked and scorned, A crown of thorns upon His head, The weight of sin and grief He mourned, As on the cross His blood was shed. The last supper, the breaking dawn, A promise kept, though hope seems gone, Through the darkness, through the loss, We find our way by the cross. “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” He cried aloud in agony, “It is finished,” the veil was torn, In His death, new life was born. The last supper, the breaking dawn, A promise kept, though hope seems gone, Through the darkness, through the loss, We find our way by the cross. From the garden to the grave, He showed the depth of love so brave, In every heart, His story saved, By His wounds, we are made.
