The shy bird won’t question why. It knows when it’s time to fly, it goes on its trembling first flight. At times, when some people go, it’s not under their control. The chain and the bane of this life. That’s why hellos can be magic. Enjoy the view, steer the ride. Not so goodbyes, they can be quite tragic. The fear, the loss, the divide. You made a gentle home with plenty of room to roam. We all felt we meant more than the rest. You showered me with praise and kindness. Your ceaseless strength was priceless when it came my time to leave the nest. Always for me, through calm and stormy, cheering on somehow. You don’t assume that, you’d someday lose it. Never without till now. Sometimes I get the blues with no one to share good news with. With you away, it’s not the same. I still have the memories of all that you’ve meant to me. The silence is such a sad shame. I know it seems wrong, but with your voice gone, poor old grieving me. I still hear you, though I’m not near you. I know you believed in me.
