IM MORE THAN EVERY STORM

V5.5

I wake up feeling ten feet tall, By midnight, I can barely feel at all. One second, everything feels right, The next, I’m fighting with the night. I make a home inside a feeling, Then watch it fall apart without a warning. My heart doesn’t know how to stay still, It climbs too high, then loses its will. I feel too much, I feel too deep, There’s no quiet when I try to sleep. I’m either drowning or touching the sky, There’s never just a simple “I’m alright.” When I’m happy, I forget the rain, I swear I’ll never feel this pain again. But when the darkness finds its way, It makes forever out of just one day. I hate how quickly everything can change, How something beautiful can suddenly feel strange. I chase the highs, I fear the lows, And never know which version shows. I feel too much, I feel too deep, My heart won’t let me gently breathe. Maybe someday I’ll find a place Where feelings don’t have to fill the whole space. Until then, I’ll learn to let them pass, The good, the bad, the moments that don’t last. I’m more than every storm I’ve been through, Even when I don’t know what to do.
