[ intro] [Verse 1] When trouble comes, don’t waste the tears Count it all joy through the shaking years The test of your faith ain’t meant to break It teaches your heart how long to wait uh uh uh Let patience finish what it starts Make you steady, make you smart If you need wisdom, ask the Lord He gives it free, He won’t keep score ohhhh oh oh [Chorus] So hold your footing, don’t drift away One foot in truth and one in the gray A double mind won’t stand the storm Stay on the rock, stay clear, stay warm mmmmmmm yeah yeah yeah [Verse 2] Don’t brag too high if your house is tall The rich still bend, and the proud still fall Like grass in heat, the bloom fades fast What looks so strong can’t always last uh uh uh Blessed is the one who won’t give in Who stays the course when the pull pulls thin There’s a crown ahead for the ones who love The King who calls from high above ohhhh oh oh [Bridge] And don’t say God put sin in your hand He never tempts, He doesn’t strand It starts when a heart gets pulled aside By its own wants, by its own pride mmmm What grows in lust will grow to pain Then sin takes root, and it leaves a stain So watch your step, keep your soul awake Before the small choice turns into break What grows in lust will grow to pain So watch your step, keep your soul awake [Final Chorus] So hold your footing, don’t drift away One foot in truth and one in the gray A double mind won’t stand the storm Stay on the rock, stay clear, stay warm [Outro] When trials come, let patience lead Ask for wisdom, plant the seed Endure the test, don’t let it win Life is the prize for the ones who stand in Him
