Galveston Grind (Slow Grind)

[Intro - Spoken Interlude - Sam (female)] (The track opens with the slow, rhythmic sound of the Galveston tide washing the beach. A deeply fuzzed-out, slow-motion bassline begins to pulse. A single slide guitar bends a wet, echoing, bluesy note. Spoken low, sultry, and close to the mic.) The heavy iron is for the daytime. The armor is for the perimeter. But when the sun drops into the Gulf and the house gets quiet... the outlaw takes the armor off. For every cowboy, every redneck, and every rebel holding the line out there—this is the frequency where the war ends, the sweet smoke rises, and the real magic starts. Pull her close. [Verse 1 - Matt (male)] (The drum track drops in—a slow, nasty, sidechain-pumping heartbeat kick and a sharp rimshot. The hurdy-gurdy purrs a low, sensual drone. Matt’s voice is a raspy, low-register drawl.) Park the Bimmer in the driveway, let the engine click and fade Throw the keys up on the counter, step into the midnight shade I’ve been twisting heavy metal, I’ve been wrestling with the rust But tonight it’s just the shadows, the saltwater, and the trust Got the sweet smoke slowly rolling, filling up the living room Got the heavy bassline kicking, sweeping out the coastal gloom So come here, my sweet Jacklyn, put your hands upon my chest Let a tired Texas outlaw show you how to do it best. [Pre-Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (A blues organ swells warmly, and the percussive banjo plucks a slow, hypnotic rhythm.) (Matt - male) The tempo’s dropping down... (Sam - female) ...the lights are burning low. (Matt - male) I’m grabbing on your hips... (Sam - female) ...we’re taking it real slow. [Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (A massively heavy, slow-grinding drop. The 808 sub-bass rumbles the floorboards. The slide guitar with talk box wails a highly vocal, seductive, and dirty melody.) (Matt - male) We’re doing the Galveston grind, swaying on the hardwood floor! (Sam - female) ...leaving the rest of the world right outside of the door! (Matt - male) This is for the heavy rednecks, pulling their best gal in tight! (Sam - female) ...dancing to the rhythm of the heavy Southern night! (Matt - male) Let the bassline shake the foundation, let the slide guitar just cry! (Both) We’re grinding to the swamp-blues rhythm beneath the Texas sky! Yeah, hold on to your outlaw, let the sweet smoke fill your head— We’re killing the noise of the city, and burning it down instead! [Verse 2 - Matt (male)] (The groove gets even deeper. A wailing harmonica blows a breathy, sensual note while the acoustic guitar grounds the beat.) People think an outlaw's always looking for a fight But they never see the way we handle business in the night Call me rough around the edges, call me country to the bone But I know exactly how to treat the queen upon the throne With the ceiling fan a-spinning and the .380 put away We are swaying to the rhythm that the heavy speakers play Every cowboy knows the secret, every mechanic knows the deal It ain't about how fast you're going, it’s about the way you feel. [Pre-Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (The accordion breathes in and out slowly, adding a sultry, humid tension.) (Matt - male) The island breeze is hot... (Sam - female) ...the stereo is loud. (Matt - male) We're floating on the smoke... (Sam - female) ...on our own private cloud. [Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (Maximum sensual volume. The talk box and the wailing harmonica trade nasty, bluesy licks over that thumping 808 trap beat.) (Matt - male) We’re doing the Galveston grind, swaying on the hardwood floor! [Bridge - Matt (male)] (The beat drops out completely. Just the low hum of the hurdy-gurdy, the sound of the ocean, and a single, echoing heartbeat kick drum. Matt speaks in a dead-calm, gravelly whisper right next to the mic.) They can keep their fancy clubs. They can keep their neon lights. Give me a hardwood floor, some good weed, and the woman who holds my world together. That's all the heaven I need. [Outro - Sam (female) & Matt (male)] (The heavy, grinding beat crashes back in, but fades slowly like a record spinning down.) (Sam - female - fading out with deep, sultry plate reverb) Swaying in the dark... outlaws in the night... (Matt - male - spoken, a low, satisfied exhale) Yeah. Just like that. (The sound of a lighter flicking and catching, a final wail from the slide guitar, and absolute silence.)
