[KUIMONO] - The Beauty of a Silently Devoured Smile | #SoundSeasons

HOSI NO MAKIMONO Second Release: "[KUIMONO] - The Beauty of a Silently Devoured Smile" A second entry for the Spring 2025 #SoundSeasons Contest There are no lyrics for this song. Instead, I invite you to listen closely and share with me what kind of story it is able to paint for you with instruments alone. I originally had no plans to enter this song into the SoundSeasons contest, but I'm quite pleased with how it came out, and decided it wouldn't hurt to submit it as well. It ended up being on the longer side, so I thank any with the patience to listen to the end. If you are reading this, I would be happy if you could also check out my first release and main contest entry, "[MINNOW]". While [MINNOW] seeks to portray an evolution, I see [KUIMONO] as a reflection of outward and inner selves, and the tragedy and beauty that they hold. The beauty of a smile as you confidently reassure your loved ones. As you work with comrades towards a common goal. As you go about your everyday life, persisting through the hardships that it brings. As you try your best to hold on while dragged down by uncertainty beyond your control. As you fight with all your might to seize your ideal outcome. As you lend a hand to lift up those who have fallen before you. The beauty of a smile as you plunge into the jaws of an inevitable end, burying your wishes and regrets. My hope is that [KUIMONO] is able to give you a taste of all of these things, and bring you some small sliver of enjoyment in the process. Please stay tuned for future releases.
