III-XXXIX — FINISH THE FIGHT [INTRO — DAWN AFTER BATTLE | 4/4 ~76 | DREADNOUGHT | LOW TELECASTER | WOODEN FLUTE | DISTANT BRASS] [MALE BARITONE — third-person throughout] [VERSE 1 — MORNING] Morning came across a battlefield That should have still been war. No drums beyond the northern pass. No dead came walking anymore. Smoke hung low above the fields. Black glass glittered in the dirt. And every county gathered With the Forest Folk and Della's riders. Jack climbed onto a wagon. Sarah stood beside him. The talking stopped. [VERSE 2 — JACK] Jack looked across the thousands. “The Long Dark is over.” No cheering. Too many empty saddles. Too many blankets covered what remained. “We won. But look around you. Ask who stood here. Winter County stood here. You stood here. The Forest Folk stood here. Della's riders stood here.” [PAUSE] “Crown Junction didn't.” [LOW BRASS] [VERSE 3 — BETRAYAL] Sarah stepped forward. “They promised guns. They sent yours. They promised soldiers. They sent you. They promised their riders would follow.” She let that settle. “They knew what was coming. They knew what failure meant. And still they stayed home.” A sheriff shouted: “Why?” Sarah answered: “Because Celeste Barrow expected the dead to weaken us— so Crown Junction could take whatever survived.” [ANGRY MURMUR BUILDS] [VERSE 4 — SARAH] Sarah raised her voice. “Yesterday you fought for every living soul in the Seven Counties. Today you know one county was willing to spend all the others.” The crowd grew louder. Sarah raised one hand. Silence returned. “I won't tell you not to mourn. Mourn them.” [PAUSE] “Remember every one.” She looked across the field. “Then honor them by finishing the fight.” [DRUM PULSE BEGINS] [VERSE 5 — DELLA] Then Della climbed the wagon. Jack watched her. So did Mara. She stood straight. Spoke clearly. Almost Della. Almost. “My people came here from beyond the Seven Counties. We had no ranches here. No towns. No graves.” She looked toward the two mounds beside the house. Her voice caught. Once. Then hardened. “But we fought beside you.” [VERSE 6 — HER SPEECH] “We bled beside you. And when the dead came, nobody asked which county we belonged to.” [CORRIDO BRASS RISES] “Yesterday there was no north. No south. No rider. No rancher. No Forest Folk. Only the living.” Della looked across the army. “Crown Junction chose to stand apart.” [PAUSE] “Let them learn what that choice cost.” The roar came slowly. Then spread. Thousands of voices. Della stepped down. Jack reached for her hand. She took it. Held too tightly. [VERSE 7 — SEVEN DAYS] [INSTRUMENTAL — TEMPO BUILDS ~92] They gave the army seven days. Seven days to bury friends. Seven days to bind the wounded. Seven days to sleep. Rifles cleaned. Horses rested. Wagons filled. Black glass packed away. Forest Folk gathered arrows. County banners rose again. Jamie sent no message south. There was nothing left to say. [VERSE 8 — CELESTE'S MISTAKE] Celeste had done her arithmetic. Let the dead destroy the armies. Let survivors crawl back home. Then Crown Junction rides out fresh And takes whatever's left. But Celeste hadn't counted Mara. Hadn't counted one small shadow reaching one Pale Lord. The battle ended hours, days, maybe weeks before it should have. The counties weren't destroyed. The riders weren't destroyed. The Forest Folk weren't destroyed. They were angry. [HARD STOP] And they were together. [VERSE 9 — THE MARCH] [ACCELERATE ~108 | ALL FOUR TRADITIONS INTERLOCK] On the eighth morning Jack gave the order. Wagons rolled. Riders mounted. Infantry formed along the road. Forest bows moved beside rifles. Della's horsemen filled the plain. Every sheriff came. Every captain came. Every county came. Jamie rode with Silas. Sarah rode with Jack. Mara rode alone. Della rode beneath one black Stormcrow. Rook. Only Rook. [BRIEF MUSICAL DROP] Then the army turned south. [VERSE 10 — NO ALLIES] Messengers rode ahead of them. Town by town, the answer came. No county barred the road. No sheriff answered Crown Junction. No riders came to Celeste. She had saved her army. Saved her powder. Saved her horses. Saved everything she'd meant to use when everyone else was broken. [PAUSE] Everyone else wasn't broken. [OUTRO — FULL FRONTIER MARCH] The Long Dark was over. The dead were buried. The Pale Lord was dust. But another reckoning waited south. Jack looked down the road. Sarah beside him. Della rode silent. Mara watched everything. Behind them came an army Celeste Barrow had tried to sacrifice. Ahead stood Crown Junction— Alone. [DRUMS BUILD] Mourn your dead. Remember their names. Honor them. [PAUSE] Finish the fight. [CUT]
