Ocean Meditation — Somatic Floating & Release
Title: Ocean Meditation — Somatic Floating & Release Let your eyes close. Take a slow breath in through your nose. And a long breath out through your mouth. Again. Inhale. Exhale. Feel the weight of your body. The back of your legs. Your hips. Your spine. The back of your head. Let yourself be heavy. You are allowed to be supported. Now imagine you are standing barefoot at the edge of the ocean. Real ocean. Cool air. Salt on your skin. Waves moving in and out. Feel the wet sand beneath your feet. Dense. Grainy. Alive. A wave rolls in and washes over your feet. Cool. It presses gently against your ankles and then recedes. Notice what your body does. If it tightens, soften. If it braces, breathe. Another wave comes. Let your knees bend slightly. Let your pelvis grow heavy. You are grounded. Safe. Now slowly walk forward. The water reaches your calves. Cool against your skin. Breathe slowly. Inhale through your nose. Long exhale. The water rises to your thighs. Your nervous system may alert. That’s okay. You are listening. You are not forcing. Step forward again. The water reaches your hips. Buoyancy begins. You do not have to hold all your weight. Pause here. Feel the sand beneath your feet even in moving water. There is ground. Take another breath. Step until the water reaches your ribs. Your breath becomes more noticeable. Keep it slow. Inhale. Exhale longer. The ocean lifts you gently with each wave. When you are ready… Lean back. Let your ears enter the water. Let your body stretch long. Float. Feel your spine supported. Your head held. Your arms drifting open. You are not swimming. You are not trying. You are allowing. Notice where your body still grips. Your jaw. Your throat. Your belly. Soften five percent. Just a little. The water is holding you. A wave moves under you. You rise. You fall. Rise. Fall. Nothing to manage. Nothing to control. Bring awareness to something you’ve been gripping in your life. Not the story. Just the tension. Where does it live? Chest? Jaw? Belly? Imagine the ocean touching that place. Cooling it. Softening it. With each exhale, let the tension spread and diffuse. Like salt dissolving in water. You are not pushing anything away. You are letting it dissolve. Stay here. Floating. Breathing. Supported. The ocean has been moving long before you arrived. It will continue long after you leave. You do not have to carry the tide. Let your fingers loosen. Let your tongue rest. Let your body widen across the surface of the water. Feel the deep permission of not doing. You are floating. Alive. Held. Nothing else is required. Now slowly bend one knee. Then the other. Roll gently onto your side. Place your feet beneath you. Feel the sand again. Solid. Stable. The water still moves around you. But you are grounded. You can float. And you can stand. Both are available to you. Take one more slow breath in. And a long breath out. Step slowly back toward shore. Feel the sand under your feet. Feel the air on your skin. Feel the room around you. Notice what remains. Not emptiness. Not loss. But space. A little less gripping. A little more support. When you are ready… Open your eyes. And carry the memory that you are allowed to float.
