**Opening Prayer** ASE, Source of all wisdom, truth, and understanding, open our hearts to receive your word. Teach us to walk faithfully, speak truthfully, and surround ourselves with those who uplift the highest good. May this message strengthen our character and guide our steps. ASE. --- ## The Company You Keep Beloved, Psalm 101 is a declaration of leadership, integrity, and spiritual discipline. In these verses, the psalmist speaks not only about personal behavior but about the kind of people he chooses to allow into his life and community. The scripture begins with a warning: *"Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off."* Slander is a silent destroyer. It works in whispers. It operates behind closed doors. It seeks to damage reputations while avoiding accountability. Many storms in our lives do not begin with actions; they begin with words. A careless tongue can divide families. A gossiping spirit can fracture friendships. A lying voice can poison entire communities. The psalmist declares that there must be boundaries against destructive speech. Not every voice deserves access to your spirit. Not every conversation deserves your participation. Not every opinion deserves your agreement. If you desire peace, you must learn to recognize and reject the energy of gossip, manipulation, and division. --- ### The Danger of Pride The scripture continues: *"Him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer."* Pride is often disguised as confidence. Confidence says, "I can do this." Pride says, "I don't need anyone." Confidence appreciates gifts. Pride worships them. Confidence remains teachable. Pride believes it already knows everything. The proud heart closes the door to wisdom because it believes there is nothing left to learn. Source cannot fill a vessel that insists it is already full. The path of growth requires humility. Humility is not thinking less of yourself. Humility is seeing yourself clearly. It is understanding your strengths without denying your weaknesses. --- ### The Eyes of Source Are Upon the Faithful Then comes the promise: *"Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land."* Notice what receives divine attention. Not popularity. Not status. Not wealth. Not titles. Faithfulness. Faithfulness is showing up when no one applauds. Faithfulness is doing right when no one is watching. Faithfulness is maintaining integrity when shortcuts seem easier. The world often celebrates talent, but heaven honors faithfulness. A faithful person becomes trustworthy because their actions match their words. A faithful person becomes dependable because they remain steady through changing seasons. Faithfulness is spiritual maturity in action. --- ### Walking in a Perfect Way The psalmist concludes: *"He that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me."* The word "perfect" here does not mean flawless. It means wholehearted. It means sincere. It means committed. The invitation is not to be perfect in performance but to be complete in devotion. Every day we are called to walk with integrity. When we fall, we rise. When we make mistakes, we learn. When we wander, we return. A perfect way is not a path without stumbles. It is a path that continually turns back toward truth. --- ## Closing Reflection Psalm 101 asks us three important questions: Who are you listening to? What spirit are you allowing to influence your heart? Are you walking faithfully when no one is watching? The message is clear: Reject gossip. Reject pride. Embrace faithfulness. Walk with integrity. For the eyes of Source are upon those who remain faithful, and those who walk in sincerity shall dwell in divine presence. May we become people whose words heal, whose hearts remain humble, and whose lives reflect unwavering faithfulness. ASE.
