The concept of childhood as the most beautiful phase of life is often taken for granted. Yet, for me, it was never a land of joy and carefree laughter. It was a shadowed place, where innocence was met with sorrow instead of warmth. This song is my attempt to reclaim something I was never truly given. It’s a journey back to an imagined paradise, only to realize it never existed for me. Instead, all I found was a broken reflection of hope. I chose to reimagine a famous French song, from a TV show, “L’île aux enfants”, cherished by an entire generation. I didn’t grow up with it, but I knew of it. Its joyful melody & comforting words spoke of a paradise I could never access. I translated the lyrics into English, transformed its sound, & twisted its meaning to mirror my own experience. This process was emotionally grueling but necessary. Music has the power to heal wound, yet it can also reopen them. 🌙 Lost Innocence & Adult Disillusionment🌙 1️⃣The child I once was speaks through the song’s VERSES, innocent and trusting. But adulthood has changed me, hardened me. The megaphone effect at the beginning is my memory waking up. 2️⃣The PRE-CHORUS is a dialogue between my younger self & the man I have become. It’s a plea to that child not to believe the idyllic lies of happiness & simplicity because I know the pain that comes from false hope. 3️⃣The CHORUS is my own bitter truth. The adult world is cruel & cold. The paradise I once believed in is nothing but a shattered illusion. I chase dreams that slip away, lost in darkness, my soul fractured by a reality I never asked for. I would have loved to go back in time to tell this child the truth in order to protect him, so that he wouldn't fall from a great height. 🤝 Friendship, Collaboration, & Cultural Diversity🌍 🎵 In the darkness, however, there's light. And that light is brought by the incredible friends I’ve met through Suno. This platform has become a place where creativity & unity flourish. It’s a celebration of cultural diversity & identity, a vital necessity in a world so often divided. Suno shows that music is not about competition but sharing, understanding, & growing together. 🌍🤝 I must express my deepest gratitude to @arqluizfelipe, Bazih, brazilities, Cissa, @ddsla, Leea, SimbaXp, Tenchi, Thiago VS, @zaron, and @zygao. Together, you demonstrate that music transcends borders & languages. 🌈🎶 🏝️ Rebuilding the Children's Island🏝️ Thanks to all of you, I'm beginning to believe that this “Children's Island” can exist. Not as a naïve paradise untouched by pain, but as a place built on understanding, kindness, & mutual support. Suno offers us the possibility to rebuild that island, an island where creativity & authenticity thrive, where we find joy in sharing our art, our pain, & our dreams. 🪽Would you build this Children's Island with me? 🪽 It was particularly difficult for me to write this. I shed tears of blood and sadness every day because of my lost illusions. Thank your for reading.
