Be a Man This Very Day

Put that glass screen down, my son, Real-world work has just begun. Leave the glowing lights behind, Better things are what we'll find. See that hammer by your feet? That is where our two worlds meet. Measure twice and strike it straight, Build it strong before it's late. Chorus: Stand up tall and lead the way, Be a man this very day! Teach him how to stand and fight, Live your life in open light! Grab his hand and lead the run, Show him how things should be done! Climb that tree and see the sky, Watch his spirit learn to fly! Hold this pole and watch the line, Fishing takes a little time. Learn to mend what's broke and torn, Calloused hands and clothes all worn. Throw that ball and hit your mark, We will stay out past the dark. Be the shield when others fall, Stand up proud and answer the call. Chorus: Stand up tall and lead the way, Be a man this very day! Teach him how to stand and fight, Live your life in open light! Grab his hand and lead the run, Show him how things should be done! Climb that tree and see the sky, Watch his spirit learn to fly! Learn to guard and to defend, On your strength he will depend. Pass the torch and share the flame, Teach him honor, give him your hand. Chorus: Stand up tall and lead the way, Be a man this very day! Teach him how to stand and fight, Live your life in open light! Grab his hand and lead the run, Show him how things should be done! Climb that tree and see the sky, Watch his spirit learn to fly! Chorus: Stand up tall and lead the way, Be a man this very day! Teach him how to stand and fight, Live your life in open light! Grab his hand and lead the run, Show him how things should be done! Climb that tree and see the sky, Watch his spirit learn to fly!
