Wings of Love Memories of you are what keep me sane, When thoughts of my past bring a tempest of pain. When my days are shrouded in sorrow and grit, Your words are the fire where shadows are lit. I get a letter promising a brighter tomorrow, A beacon of hope that banishes sorrow. It gives me the strength to keep still standing tall, As your love lights the darkness, catching my fall. Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve A love with such passion, yet quiet reserve. It’s a story of triumph, written deep in the stars, In the beautiful harmony of Venus and Mars. Like a celestial explosion of a star deep in space, Or the tail of Great ISON illuminating the night's face, Our love is a turning point, burning so bright, Guiding me home like The True North Star's light. It’s placed beside Pegasus, the horse with white wings, So the heavens can hear the sweet song our heart sings. A tale whispered softly by Venus above, And carried to Earth on the wings of a dove. So everyone looking up into the night, Will see our true story ablaze in the light. Not just mythology from an ancient decree, But a promise of love for the whole world to see. So thank you, my butterfly, for brightening my days, For giving me smiles and clearing the haze. For being the sun that dries up the rain, For being my healing, and washing the pain. It is you, my darling, I will forever love, Until we return to the cosmos above. Yet still, our beautiful story will ever remain, Beside Pegasus soaring, free from all pain.
