[Intro] Small hands. Small shoes. Small voice people laugh at. Dobby remembers chains so long they started feeling like skin. [Verse 1] Scrubbing silver till the fingers cracked red, hearing rich folk laughing somewhere overhead. Eyes low. Move quick. Never answer too slow. House-elves learn early what they’re allowed to know. “Punish yourself, Dobby.” Yes, Dobby obeyed. Bruises on the arms that the sleeves always hid away. Master Lucius talked soft, cold rings on his hand. Quiet men are cruelest — Dobby understands. Then came Harry Potter. Strange boy. Kind eyes. Looked at Dobby once like Dobby’s life mattered inside. Not servant. Not creature. Not thing kept nearby. Somebody. [Hook] So Dobby lied. Stole mail. Blocked trains. Took pain. Because freedom feels frightening right before the chains break. [Verse 2] Old sock hidden like treasure inside cloth folds, Lucius screaming while the whole room turned cold. Dobby was free. Still sounds unreal. Like saying sunlight belongs inside cellar walls. Worked Hogwarts kitchens with burned little hands, carried hot plates through enchanted halls and laughing clans. Students stayed careless while the castle stayed scarred. And Harry kept running straight toward danger and dark. Dobby worried. Always worried. But some souls are worth protecting even when fear makes the heart shake sick. [Hook] So Dobby lied. Stole mail. Blocked trains. Took pain. Because freedom feels frightening right before the chains break. [Bridge] Wet cellar. Stone smell. Bellatrix laughing somewhere close as hell. Griphook breathing fast. Wands shaking blue. Everybody sounding like hunted creatures do. Then Harry shouted— And Dobby grabbed tight. World cracked open with a sound like breaking light. Darkness folding. Bodies turning. Shell Cottage waiting somewhere safe in the night— [Outro] Dobby held Harry’s arm. Heard screaming far behind. Felt apparition tearing through space and time. Almost safe. Almost home. Then Dobby heard something cut sharp through the air— A silver knife spinning. And Harry’s face— changed.
