[Verse 1] Grandpa had to take a journey To a place so bright and new God was looking down from Heaven And He knew just what to do Grandpa’s body was getting tired So God held out His gentle hand And He lifted Grandpa upward To a beautiful, happy land [Chorus] Oh, he’s safe in Heaven now And everything is more than okay He is running, he is laughing And his hurts have gone away Though we miss him here on earth God is keeping him so bright And Grandpa’s watching over you Like a star into the night [Verse 2] You might wonder why God took him When we wanted him to stay But God needed one more angel To help light up the golden day It’s okay to cry your tears But please try to understand Grandpa’s happier than ever Walking in that peaceful land [Chorus] Oh, he’s safe in Heaven now And everything is more than okay He is running, he is laughing And his hurts have gone away Though we miss him here on earth God is keeping him so bright And Grandpa’s watching over you Like a star into the night [Outro] So close your eyes and rest your head Grandpa’s love is staying near He’s with God up in the clouds And he loves you so much, dear
