[Intro - Tavern hum, mugs clinking, accordion noodling low and mournful] [Spoken] ...Another wyrm in the dark. Another village that forgets by winter. [Verse 1] Gosh it troubles me some, seein' you slump there Starin' at the bottom of your mug Every soul in this town wishes they were there Where you stood when you gave that wyrm a shrug! There's no man in Ebonshire braver than you There's no name gets the whole tavern to rise Every eye in this room is a little in awe of you Herriot... open your eyes! [Chorus] No one's bold as the Slayer No one's cold as the Slayer Walked in the Mines where the old wyrm's lair was And he strolled right through it No man half as steady as he Not a nerve when the dark wind blew it [Spoken] ...It was only a dragon, Bogga. [Harmony] Only a dragon, he says, with that jaw! Be still, my heart, and mercy me too Half the girls in this tavern would faint at the sight of him And the other half wish that they knew him! [Verse 2] No one's earned it like Herriot A legend confirmed like Herriot Come on now, sit up, let the whole tavern hear it You looked that beast in the eye and you said [Spoken] ...I said "not today." And it believed me. [Chorus 2] Say it louder for Herriot! Raise up your mugs, raise up your horns Herriot's the best, and the rest? Well, they're warned! [Build] Bogga: Tell 'em how you held your ground! Herriot: (half-smiling now) ...I didn't so much as flinch. Crowd: Tell 'em how you got your crown! Herriot: The gold was just a bonus, in a pinch. [Bridge] Down in those mines where the tunnel bent low I heard the old wyrm start to wake Its scales were like slate and its breath was blue fire So I drew both my blades... and I didn't shake! [Chorus] No one strikes like the Slayer! Owns the night like the Slayer! Then walks back to town Coin in hand, standin' tall That's the Slayer! [Outro] Say it once more! Who cleared the mine floor! Who's the pride of this town! Herriot won't sit back down! [Spelled Chant] H! E! R! R! I! O! T! [Final Hit] Herriot!!!
