Snooze Button Blues

Alarm clock rang at half past eight Hit that snooze, said I won’t be late Rolled back over, closed my eyes Next thing I know, it's a big surprise Sun’s comin’ through the window bright Clock says nearly noon, that can’t be right Ain’t got a job, ain’t got no plans So, I slept half the day again Hit that button one too many times Now the whole day slipped behind Got nowhere special I gotta be Still feels like a crime to me Day’s half over before it begins Snooze button wins again Every night I say I will Wake up early, and yet still Morning comes, I stretch out my hand Snooze button's there on the bedside stand Hit that button one too many times Now the whole day slipped behind Ain’t got no one I gotta see It still feels like a crime to me I wake up late, the days gone by Those snooze button blues, oh my Alarm’s set for eight a.m. But I know that snooze button will win again
