[Verse 1] I found a blue ticket Folded in my coat Edge worn soft Like a secret note Had a map on one side Blank on the other side So I picked a stop I’d never tried [Pre-Chorus] I said, “why not now?” With my hands on the rail The whole day leaned in Like it knew I’d fail [Chorus] Take the blue ticket Take the blue ticket I’m not staying still No, I’m not staying still Take the blue ticket Take the blue ticket If the road goes wild Let it take me there [Verse 2] At the second stop A boy sold peaches by the crate He laughed when I asked If it was too late He said, “late for what?” With a grin full of sun “Every door looks closed Till you run” [Pre-Chorus] So I ran a little With my bag held tight Past the old gas station Burning blue in the light [Chorus] Take the blue ticket Take the blue ticket I’m not staying still No, I’m not staying still Take the blue ticket Take the blue ticket If the road goes wild Let it take me there [Bridge] I lost my name tag Lost my tidy plan Found a dusty river In a tin-roof town And I heard my own laugh From a newer place Like a window opened In my face [Final Chorus] Take the blue ticket Take the blue ticket I’m not staying still No, I’m not staying still Take the blue ticket Take the blue ticket If the road goes wild Let it take me there Take the blue ticket Take the blue ticket I’m not staying still I’m not staying still
