Perfect Girl Written By David Wright 13 September 2026 Copyright © 2026 by David Wright [Verse 1] You’re staring at the mirror again Trying to fix what isn’t broken Measuring yourself against Every word that’s never spoken You think you’ve gotta get it right Afraid of getting something wrong Like every little mistake you make Means somehow you don’t belong [Pre-Chorus] But I see the weight you carry Even when you say you’re fine [Chorus] You don’t have to be a perfect girl You don’t have to try so hard You’re already more than enough Exactly as you are You don’t have to change for them Or sing a different song You don’t have to be a perfect girl You’ve been enough all along [Verse 2] My baby girl, you feel things deep That is the strength I see You’re unafraid to let the truth Come out and set you free You light up rooms without a plan You don’t even know you do You’re everything you’re trying to be Without changing you [Pre-Chorus] But I see the weight you carry Even when you say you’re fine [Chorus] You don’t have to be a perfect girl You don’t have to try so hard You’re already more than enough Exactly as you are You don’t have to change for them Or sing a different song You don’t have to be a perfect girl You’ve been enough all along [Bridge] A thousand voices will try to change you They’ll say you aren’t good enough But don’t you let them deceive you They don’t know what you’re worth But if you forget them all Stay true to what you believe Even when I’m dead and gone You’ll know what you mean to me [Final Chorus] You don’t have to be a perfect girl You don’t have to try so hard You’re already more than enough Exactly as you are You don’t have to change for them Or sing a different song You don’t have to be a perfect girl You’ve been enough all along [Outro] You don’t have to be a perfect girl Perfection isn't always what it seems You'll always be a perfect girl to me. Never forget what that means.
