When the Power Goes Out

I love you for choosing me, again and again, without thinking. I am grateful that you love my flaws, every imperfect side of me. I don’t know how you can be so perfect for me? I don’t feel like I deserve you. Thank you for calming my storm, for helping to see myself for who I really am. I hope that one day that I can be everything that you need me to be. But, for now, let’s cuddle under a blanket, sip our energy drinks and Coke Zero, and look outside at the storm. Let’s let it rage on outside, and hold each other’s peace. I’m trying to find a way through, this dark tunnel while searching for the light switch. If I must stand forever in the dark, I am glad that it’s with you. When the power goes out, we can light a fire, and I can hold your hand. I wish that our present was different, but I’m grateful at the end time. If we can get through this, then we can do anything. My heart has found its person: there is nobody but you. If you walk away, then I will stay here in the dark. I now understand why my grandpa never remarried. Once my grandma was gone, nobody could take her place. That’s how I feel when I’m with you. I can let go of the future. I can create the calm. I can let go of the imperfect and embrace impermanence, if I can have you. Love you to the moon and back, Morgan, always and forever. For eternity and beyond.
