Give It To Life

Melancholic orchestral fantasy × organic chamber downtempo, ~100 BPM, minor modal harmony, intimate yet spacious, with a sense of vast natural open space, Warm circular bass pulse remains gently in motion beneath deep cello and low strings, soft human drums and restrained frame percussion, Delicate piano, harp and hammered dulcimer weave small evolving motifs, with sparse clean guitar harmonics, faint Hammond/Leslie haze and subtle bowed textures, Organic arrangement slowly changes around recurring motifs, rich but uncluttered, melancholic and majestic without cinematic drama, Crystalline head-voice soprano floats above with long pianissimo sustains, very light vibrato, thin continuous tone and gentle decrescendos; intimate, fragile, controlled narrow dynamics, No chest-heavy singing, belting, choir, dramatic vocal swells, bombast or epic climax

Iryna, I think I just invented a new rule: anyone who remixes Eternal eventually gets remixed by Eternal. 😄

Your version of Let It Remain genuinely stayed with me, so I really wanted to return the gesture.

I kept your lyrics and the melodic soul of Give It To Life intact, but let Eternal interpret them in her own way.

Thank you for giving me the idea to do this. I hope you enjoy meeting your song through her voice. 💜

Production note: I tested a V6 version too, but this V5.5 take simply felt better — especially in the balance between Eternal’s voice and the arrangement. Sometimes the right version is just the right version. 😄

[Intro]

[Verse 1]

I was living.
Yeah...

Then suddenly
the world felt too small.

To touch the sky.
To touch the silence.
To sing along with a cloud.
To wake
something sleeping.

To leave behind
something alive.

Strange.

You never
asked for anything.

But suddenly
there was so much in me
it had to go somewhere.

[Pre-Chorus]
We don’t have to
become an “us.”

Some things
don’t need a place
to belong.

[Chorus]
I won’t waste this love.
I won’t make it hurt.

Not ours —
still real.

I’ll give it to life.

[Instrumental Turn]

[Verse 2]
Let it find its roots
in my hands,
in my voice.

Let it slip
into the things I make,
into the way I move.

Let what
never became our life
spill out around me —

in every motion,
in everything I touch.

[Pre-Chorus 2]
It changed shape
when I let it move.

No name.
No destination.

Just becoming.

[Chorus]

I won’t waste this love.
I won’t make it hurt.

Not ours —
still real.

I’ll give it to life.

[Bridge]

Your spark
became a flame.

What woke in me
won’t go back to sleep.

It found
a life of its own.

[Final Chorus]
I won’t waste this love.
I won’t make it hurt.

Not ours —
still real.

I’ll give it to life.

[Outro]
I opened my hands.
The flame didn’t die.

It found the wind.

And learned
the sky.
