"No Vacancy (Still Banned from Hell)"
"No Vacancy (Still Banned from Hell)" [Intro - Spoken Interlude - Sam (female)] (The track opens with the deep, vibrating drone of a hurdy-gurdy and the slow, rhythmic picking of a delta-blues acoustic guitar. A heavy, distant Viking war horn sounds a warning. Spoken smooth, dark, and amused.) People ask how a man survives a decade in the fire and makes it out to the Texas coast. They think it’s a story about redemption. But let’s get the record straight. The mechanic didn't claw his way out of the pit. The devil looked at the damage, checked the balance sheet, and evicted him. And just in case anyone is wondering... his name is still on the blacklist. [Verse 1 - Matt (male)] (A massive, distorted 808 sub-bass drops in with a slow, grinding sidechain pump. A percussive banjo ticks like a bomb. Matt’s voice is rough, arrogant, and coated in gravel.) I look back at the timeline, the fire and the rust When I was walking through the brimstone, kicking up the dust They threw me in the furnace, thought they'd melt the iron frame But I just drank the gasoline and weaponized the flame! The demons couldn't break me, the reaper took a pass I shattered every mirror in their little house of glass Satan packed my toolboxes and walked me to the door Said, "Get back to the surface, you ain't welcome here no more!" [Pre-Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (A wailing harmonica and a blues organ growl rise up like smoke.) (Matt - male) The underworld is locked... (Sam - female) ...they threw away the key. (Matt - male) There ain't a single devil... (Sam - female) ...that wants to mess with me. [Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (Explosive, heavy-stomping Southern rock-trap drop. The slide guitar with talk box screams a mechanical, laughing riff over a punchy kick drum.) (Matt - male) Yeah, I’m still kicked out of hell, I’m on the permanent ban! (Sam - female) ...too much heavy metal for the underworld plan! (Matt - male) Satan checks the radar, sees me sitting on the coast! (Sam - female) ...drinking on the porch and just laughing at the ghosts! (Matt - male) They wouldn't take my soul, they couldn't handle the weight! (Both) So I built my own kingdom right behind the Texas gate! Yeah, heaven might not want me, but the devil knows it well— I’m the only mechanic ever kicked right out of hell! [Verse 2 - Matt (male)] (The beat strips back to a dirty, hydraulic swamp-blues groove. A mouth harp twangs while an accordion wheezes a dark, carnival-like rhythm.) Now I’m sitting on the island with the ocean and the breeze Got the .380 loaded, living perfectly at ease But down below the surface, they still check the barricades Making sure the Texas monster hasn't sharpened up the blades They hear the straight-six Bimmer when I fire up the exhaust And they calculate the damage and they calculate the cost They know if they invite me back, I’ll tear up all the floors So they keep the pitchforks pointed at the inside of their doors! [Pre-Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (The hurdy-gurdy winds up, creating a chaotic, dizzying tension.) (Matt - male) My name is on the list... (Sam - female) ...in bold and bloody red. (Matt - male) I’m a liability... (Sam - female) ...among the walking dead. [Chorus - Matt (male) & Sam (female)] (Maximum volume. Turntable scratches cut through the Viking war horn, blending hip-hop energy with outlaw metal.) (Matt - male) Yeah, I’m still kicked out of hell, I’m on the permanent ban! [Bridge - Matt (male)] (The instruments drop completely out except for a single acoustic guitar string bending, and the faint sound of the Galveston tide. Matt speaks in a deadpan, gravelly whisper right into the room mic.) It’s a funny thing. You spend your whole life fighting demons... Until one day you realize, the demons are locking their doors to keep you out. [Outro - Sam (female) & Matt (male)] (The heavy, sludgy 808 beat crashes back in for one final, grinding loop.) (Sam - female - fading out with deep plate reverb) No vacancy... the mechanic is blacklisted... (Matt - male - spoken, a low, arrogant chuckle) I wouldn't go back even if they begged me. (The sound of a heavy vault door slamming shut, a final Viking war horn blast, and absolute silence.)
