「 Worlds Between 」
Stanley stares at nuthin’ blank-eyed forty winks by and counting to light Away he flies with buddies myself and I all three wondering why peace runs away at night With his focus fixed on a broken light he thinks about the future of life banality he surmised with an eternal stare unaware of the piquing curiosity unfolding at the corner of his consciousness Worlds between the sound and silence caught between intentions and relevance not formed not yet real until their purpose begins to feel like substance another thought bubble pops in the comic when a glint of motion harmonics catches his sight a garden spider weaving webs at night the artist meets the muse at her effort so stalwart and concise she tirelessly works for purpose spinning yet unaware her work was hopeless Stanley gets out of bed and inches to the door sleeplessness moves him across the floor the spider stops working as he draws near to watch the space between the outer and screen life producing an engineering marvel raveling minuscule strands of steel her shimmering threads belie their strength as they sway and bob at the slightest influence Worlds between the sound and silence caught between intentions and relevance not formed but not yet real until their purpose begins to feel like substance the spider, the web and the purpose are equaled only by their equilibrium in the unhealed caught between doors separating two worlds driven by necessity and unfurled instinct Stanley’s gaze a blend of joy and defeat both doors both worlds he sees he cups booth his ears one in each hand and understands elegance of effort trapped in his mind Worlds between the sound and silence caught between intentions and relevance not formed but not yet real until their purpose begins to feel like substance one word escaped his silent half realization… “huh”
